Mountain Dew Baja Blast

Just as we are coming off the news of grape-flavored Mountain Dew Pitch Black, it appears yet another flavor is in the works...

Mountain Dew Baja Blast

It appears that this is LIME flavored and currently available at various Taco Bell outlets in the fountain. I don't know anything else about it. A sighting and image was mentioned on this website.

Well, it might be a name targeted at the Taco Bell crowd. Also, some popular alcoholic beverages add a spot of lime for flavoring. Who knows?

There is sort of an official website placeholder up now at: DewBajaBlast.com

All it really shows is this:

I ran over to my local Taco Bell yesterday and they didn't have it.

I don't know if there are other uses or definitions, but I associate the word "Baja" with the Mexican state Baja California. It is located just south of the US state California, as seen in the map.

It still makes little sense, since the only thing Mexican about Taco Bell is the fact they have "taco" in their name and half of their employees are Mexicans. The food they serve is American with a hint of a Mexican inspiration a long, long time ago.

Well, you and I both know that Taco Bell isn't real Mexican, but I don't think that's the intent. It's the branding of Mexican that they are going for... and I think the drink name elludes to that.

The DewBajaBlast.com website is now open. Check it out. Lots of stuff to explore. It's like they are taking a "tropical" and "storm"-related theme here. Nice job on the Flash animation.

Also, found two other photos of the beverage:

Well, I've just returned from Taco Bell and have a Baja Blast in my hands right now. Look for the exclusive review on SteveandAmySly.com over the weekend!
