"Pirates of the Caribbean" Soundtrack

Having declared Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl our favorite movie from the summer, Amy and I decided to purchase the soundtrack, as the music is one of the elements we most loved from this movie.

A highly orchestral piece, the Pirates soundtrack features an intense driving beat and interesting arrangements that portray certain characters in the film. Highlighted mainly by strings, big moments are emphasized by trumpets. The main theme in the movie is extremely catchy, which is why I think we wanted the soundtrack in the first place. You'll find it represented continuously here.

The only small gripe we had with the CD is its short length, clocking in at about 45 minutes. It leaves you wanting for more. However, this is a blessing in some ways. I own a lot of orchestral soundtracks (especially from the Star Wars films), and while they are accurate, their soft/loud progressions through a movie makes it a hard listen, especially when you are doing other work. I liked the Pirates soundtrack because it's very driving the whole time, keeping you interested. Even the recording levels on the CD seem to be tweaked a bit to provide for a constant sound.

Highly recommended. A great soundtrack for a wonderful ride that turned into a surprisingly good movie!

I think the soundtrack is really good myself. I have downloaded what I found from the internet. I have also asked for the CD for my B-Day. So I don't feel to bad about getting the MP3's ahead of time.
